NJISA 2025 Spring Tune-Up Regatta

Summary

Saturday, March 22:

The NJISA Spring Tune-Up Regatta featured 15 teams from 10 schools on a sunny day in Toms River. While a beautiful weather day, the wind did not exactly cooperate as sailors saw conditions from light and variable to gusts of 20 knots. The breeze shifted from east-southeast to west-southwest during the four hours of sailing. While the wind steadied from the west-southwest, it picked up too much for racing to continue. Sailing was called after the fourth B race for a total of eight LA2 races.

Southern Regional never finished outside of the top three in any race to win the day comfortably. Donovan Catholic, CBA 1, CBA 2 and Seton Hall Prep rounded out the top five. Southern's Turner Ryon, Jude Ryon and Belle Placa won A Divison, while teammates Gannon Botwinick, Ella Linkewich and Evan Colon topped B Division.

Thanks to Dave Magno for serving as PRO and Jason Lutz for running the mark boat. As always, thank you to TRYC and BBYRA for providing the facility and fleet.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
