On Saturday, May 30th, races started at approximately 1030 hours. Winds were out of the Northwest direction, and were heavy in the morning and carried through into the afternoon. Annapolis Yacht Club would like to thank our sister club Severn Sailing Association for allowing us to use their facilities to do rotations. On Sunday, May 31st, races started at approximately 1000 hours. In the morning, winds were out of the Northwest direction and were light with sporadic 30-degree shifts. Wind speeds were 4 knots to 5 knots and then dropped to 2 knots to 3 knots. In the afternoon, there was a notable 180-degree shift and parts of patchiness. This resulted in the first race for the B division to be deemed unfair, constituting a restart. The wind speed increased later in the day to 8 knots to 9 knots, a strong end to a great series of races this weekend!. Throughout the day, the weather was sunny with blue skies, and temperatures were in the mid-70s, a beautiful day out on the Chesapeake Bay! Racers continued to demonstrate strong sportsmanship on their second day of racing, each team displaying great integrity on the water. Congratulations to all competitors for a successful weekend of sailing in the 2026 Phebe Corckran King Memorial Regatta! Annapolis Yacht Club would once again like to thank our sister club, Severn Sailing Association, for allowing us to use their facilities to do rotations this weekend. And once again, another big shout-out to Randall Nunn and Jason Lutz for managing rotations and land logistics as the ISSA Representatives. This weekend would not have been possible without all the help from our volunteers, on the water Judges, AYC Protest Committee, Race Management team, and Dockmasters. And a special thank you to all the parents for your continued and consistent support of youth sailing and high school sailing programs.
Thank you to the Corckran and King Families for their loving support of High School Sailing & Racing.
