LF Team Race Spray

Lake Forest Sailing hosted a fantastic day of team race scrimmaging on a beautiful spring day on Lake Michigan. Conditions built steadily throughout the afternoon, with increasing breeze and a wonderfully flat lake providing ideal team racing conditions and plenty of opportunities for close tactical battles.

A total of six races were completed, with teams from New Trier, St. Ignatius, and Lake Forest taking part. New Trier fielded two teams and showed exactly why they are heading to Nationals this season, demonstrating exceptional boat handling, communication, and teamwork throughout the day’s racing.

For Lake Forest and St. Ignatius alike, the event provided invaluable high-level practice and a brilliant opportunity to sharpen team racing skills against some of the Midwest’s strongest competition. The atmosphere on and off the water was hugely positive, with sailors gaining a great deal from the experience while enjoying an outstanding afternoon of racing.
