Seven races completed in 10-15 SW breeze with gusts into the low twenties towards the back end of racing. SAISA Women sailors had to keep the heads on a swivel to navigating the puffy and shifty course on Lake Virginia at Rollins College.
A lunch break was completed after six races, followed by a seventh race and a series of thunderstorms that cut racing short for the day.
One protest was filed which resulted in a DSQ.
Forecast for tomorrow looks to have similar breeze velocity from the opposite direction. Plan A is to finish a series of twelve and perhaps more if conditions and time permit.
A second day of SAISA Girls Champs wrapped up with 5 final races in a 7-12kt NE breeze. Classic Lake Virginia challenged the field with puffy and shifty conditions. In the end, MAST Academy turned out a dominant performance, only turning in one 2nd place finish with a photo finish in the final race. Carrollton School and Coral Gables rounded out the podium.
One additional protest was filed which resulted in a DSQ.
Thank you to all who came out and a big shout out to Halsey Richartz for helping coordinate this event!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
