VISA CCS Fleet Regatta

Summary

Saturday, April 11:

A beautiful day on the Rapphannock River with temps reaching the low 70's greeted 15 teams from 7 schools.Sailors were initially postponed on land, then on water until the breeze filled in just after 10 with a northerly 5-7mph. The wind clocked to NE and built to a high of 9mph before the no start after time of 3:00.

Teams completed 7 races in each of 2 divisions on a windward/leeward course, with both fleets on the water at the same time. Christchurch School 1 took first place with 45 points. Following in second was Christchurch School Team 2 with 63 points. Norfolk Academy Team 3 won the tie breaker against Christchurch Team 3 for third place with 77 points.

Thanks are extended to the host school, Christchurch for welcoming VISA and to all of the volunteers, especially PRO team Michael Schmidt and AJ Picillo.
