NJISA 2016 Sailfest

Summary

Saturday, September 10:

Under clear skies, hot humid temps and light wind, the 2016 Sailfest regatta got under way around 1100 hrs. Even after waiting for some breeze to fill in, sailors still had to work their way around the course in shifty and light southwest winds. By early afternoon however, a southeasterly sea breeze of 8-12 mph filled in and provided much improved racing conditions. Six W4 races were competed in each division. There was one protest filed but withdrawn.

The Christian Brothers Colts came out on top again for the third consecutive year, finishing with 42 points. The Southern Regional Rams were only 5 points behind in 2nd place. The Donovan Catholic Griffins rounded out the top three with 60 points.

Thank you to Roy Wilkins for running the races from his perch on Sweet Jane's flybridge. Also thanks to Michelle Green and her daughter Bridget for taking scores and sending them ashore for Jason Lutz to post online.

As always, thank you to TRYC and OCC for the use of their facilities and fleet of boats.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
