2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Great Oaks Regatta SILVER

Summary

Sunday, November 24:

Racing commenced at 0936 with breeze at about 3-5 knots. Race committee pushed to get races set and started as soon as possible as the wind was expected to die. Wind died at the end of the second race of the day causing a long delay between races. Just as race committee was making the decision to tow boats to shore and postpone racing, a breeze convinced them to delay in case it stuck. With winds holding at 4, PRO Nathan Adams made the call to stick with it and start racing. The decision paid off and the breeze, although light, stayed constant enough to allow Gold and Silver fleets to sail a total of 7 races each, changing boats every two races. Winds diminished to 1 knot prompting an end to racing at 1540. Overall a beautiful day on the water with excellent sailing by all competitors. The Cranbrook Kingswood team won first place in silver fleet.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
