Atlantic Coast Championship

Summary

Saturday, November 13:

It was a beautiful day on the water with breeze shifting from the southwest to the west at 10-25 knots. Conditions became choppier and shiftier as the day went on. Gusts reached into the high 20's and boats sailed in after race 3A to take a lunch break and install mast floats to the fleet. There were three protests, 2 requests for redress and 1 breakdown request. Two DSQs and and 1 redress were given, 3 were disallowed. Race management was run by the ODU Monarchs who kept the racecourse square and protests were heard by Head Coach Mitch Brindley and Assistant Coach Tyler Colvin.

Sunday, November 14:

Racing started with race 5B promptly at 945 in 4-7 knots out of the WNW. The breeze backed to the NW and died around 1200 after race 7A was completed. The breeze filled in for 8A and then shut down. B-divison rotated and waited for the southerly to fill until 1345 and race 7B was sailed in SW 7 knots. Big thanks to all of our volunteers, ODU Monarchs, and VISA for helping run a great regatta!

Congratulations to Severn School for winning the 2021 Atlantic Coast Championships!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
