VISA Christchurch Fleet Regatta

Summary

Saturday, September 11:

Sailors gathered at Christchurch for today's regatta. There were 20 teams from 10 schools. The weather started out cool in the morning with temperatures in the 70s but climbed to the low 80s later in the day. Skies were fair and winds started out low. A wind delay kept sailors onshore until the wind filled in at 1040 and they were able to launch. The first race began at 1118 with winds blowing 1-7 knots west out of the Rappahannock River. There were 6 total races with 3 races in each division.

Top three performers overall were: Norfolk Collegiate Oaks 1 in first place Christchurch Seahorses 2 in second place Norfolk Academy Bulldogs 1 in third place

Top three division A performers were: Norfolk Collegiate Oaks 1 in first place Norfolk Academy Bulldogs 1 in second place Norfolk Collegiate Oaks 2 in third place

Top 3 division B performers were: Christchurch Seahorses 2 in first place Christchurch Seahorses 3 in second place Grafton High School Varsity in second place

Even though we didn't have as many races as we would have liked, it was a great day. Thank you to everyone that came out and volunteered as well as the families of the sailors that supported their teams form shore.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
