NJISA 2016 Last Hurrah

Summary

Saturday, June 4:

Although there was dense fog a few hours beforehand, it turned out to be a picture perfect day with warm temperatures, sunny skies and a cooperative 8-10 mph Easterly breeze for the final NJISA Wednesday afternoon regatta of the Spring 2016 season.

Fourteen schools, making up eighteen teams, sailed seven W3 races in a single division format regatta. Several coaches, team alumni and parent advisors joined their teams to sail, adding to the fun for the afternoon with some rekindled friendly competition and reminiscing amongst old friends. Ibuprofen may be in order for some participants.

Congratulations to the Ranney Panthers (et al) for their 1st place finish for the afternoon, followed by the Donovan Griffins (et al) who won the tie-breaker with the Southern Rams (et al) for 2nd and 3rd finishes respectively.

Thanks to all the sailors, coaches, family and friends for coming out to enjoy the beautiful afternoon and their continued support of high school sailing in New Jersey. Also thanks to Atillio's Pizza for the prompt delivery of all the pizza as requested.

And as usual, many thanks to Toms River Yacht Club and Ocean County College for the use of their facilities and fleet of boats.

All the best to the sailors finishing up the school year and seniors with their graduation and future plans. We wish everyone well with hopes for a safe and fun summer, on and off the water.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
