It was a great day for sailing on Saturday March 19th at Jordan Lake near Raleigh, NC for SAISA North Points #7 hosted by RTP High School Sailing. Seven full teams and one composite team from NC, SC and GA sailed 14 races in slightly shifting winds out of the Northeast at 6 to 11 kts. The racing area provided an excellent viewing areas for coaches and spectators and enabled quick boat rotations resulting in completing a full rotation.
The racing was very tight with many close finishes on the MWL course. Richmond Hill won the regatta and qualified for the SAISA District Championships with a dominating first place performance in A Division and a second place finish in B Division. Durham School of the Arts was the second place team overall with a second place finish in A Division and a third place finish in B Division. Pamlico High, one of the newer teams in the district, sailed with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship and finished third in A Division. The other top finisher was Porter-Gaud taking first in the B Division and third overall.
