On a very wet and windy Saturday, April 2, 2016, thirteen teams from 10 schools met at the Youth Sailing Virginia venue on Fort Monroe in Hampton, VA for fleet racing. Winds ranged from 12 to 14 mph with higher gusts, originating out of the Southwest initially, and clocking around to East of North by the time races were abandoned due to thunder in the early afternoon. Rains were almost continuous and often driving. Seas remained relatively flat in the protected waters of Mill Creek with some periods of waves of less than 8 inches. Sailors were able to complete 4 races in each division on a W-4 course. Christchurch School Team 2 finished in first place, followed by Norfolk Collegiate School Team 2 in second, and Christchurch School Team 1 in third place.
