VISA Fleet Race Championship

Summary

Saturday, May 6:

The weather was cool and cloudy. Splotches of rain were felt. The wind built throughout the day starting at SW 5-10 mph and building to 15 mph with higher gusts, before easing in the afternoon.

On the varsity course, 13 teams from 8 schools completed xx W4/W3 races. Norfolk Collegiate School took first place and the win for the season Championship. Christchurch School Team 1 took second place in the regatta and won the second place for the season Championship. Christchurch School Team 2 took third place in the regatta, but a Team 2, deferred the third place Championship slot to Nansemond Suffolk Academy.

Seven JV teams from 5 schools competed on a W2/W3 course. Nansemond Suffolk Academy took first place and the Season Champion title. York High School came in second for the regatta and the season championship, with Maury High School Team 2 taking third place, and Maury High School taking the third place for the Championship.

This regatta concluded the VISA Fleet Race Series for the Spring 2017 Season. First place in season standings goes to Christchurch School. Second place to Norfolk Collegiate School. Third to Nansemond Suffolk Academy. Fourth to York High School. Fifth to Kecoughtan High School. Sixth to Poquoson High School. Seventh to Maury High School. Eighth to Phoebus High School. Ninth to Hampton High School. Tenth to Grafton High School. And, eleventh to Hampton Roads Academy.
