VISA HCS Fleet Race Regatta

Summary

Saturday, March 18:

Fifteen teams from 10 area high schools converged on the protected waters of Mill Creek at Fort Monroe, arriving to cool temperatures ranging from 46-50 degrees with intermittent light rain. Morning winds started at 15 mph and decreased to a low of 7 mph with some gusts out of the SW clocking to SSW and back. Seas were flat. The course was W4, shortened as necessary to accommodate changes in wind speed. Teams were able to complete 8 solid races in each of A and B divisions.

Christchurch School Team 1 finished the day in first place. Norfolk Collegiate School Team 1 took second place followed by Christchurch School Team 3.

Our thanks to PRO Allen Kilgore for running a great event with a tight race schedule.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
