Showers ended just after dawn and the sailors were met with slightly wet but calm conditions. By the beginning of the competitors meeting, there was about 5 knots from the west. RC started the first race before 11:30 and then there was a big left shift. The breeze continued to clock left throughout the afternoon, with the RC doing a great job of reacting to the shifts and resetting the course several times, until the final race of the full round 1 was sailed in an easterly. The top two teams attempted an extra race which was soon abandoned as the wind subsided for the afternoon. Thank you to the many volunteers assisting on the water from Start and Finish teams and support boats to umpires which made this a smooth regatta.
