Christchurch Spring Intersectional Kick Off

Summary

Saturday, March 2:

Saturday began with overcast and temperatures in the mid 40's. A light shifty breeze about 7-8 knots which built throughout the day maxing out at about 15 knots and choppier conditions. The breeze tappered off and racing was concluded at 4:30 after finishing 11 races in each division.

Sunday, March 3:

Sunday morning sailors were greeted with glassy conditions and temperatures in the upper 30's climbing to the mid 40's. At the 8:30 AM Coaches meeting it was decided to hold sailors on shore until the breeze began to fill. The wind began to fill just after 9AM and sailors were launched at 9:30, the first race was started in light variable conditions just before 10AM. The breeze built slightly throughout the day into a very steady north easterly.

9 races in each division were completed before the 2PM cutoff for a complete rotation of 20 races.

Congratulations to Christchurch School for placing first overall. Antilles 1st team placed second. Antiles 2nd team placed third.
