VISA welcomed 10 teams from 8 schools to the Lafayette River for our second Team Race regatta of the season. Sailors were greeted by partly clear skies, surprisingly raw temps reaching the high 50 degrees and 49 degree water. Seas were smooth. The wind started at 10-12 with gusts to 15, dropping by 11:30 to dead calm, resulting in a wind delay with the regatta called at 12:20PM.
Despite the early end, we accomplished 21 team races on a digital N course. Scoring and rotations were done using the Sail100 Swiss League Excel program (attached on the Notice board herein), and concurrently copied as individual races into Techscore. Tie break rules in this program vary from Appendix D and are also attached in the Notice Board.
Christchurch School took first place with 100% wins, followed by Norfolk Collegiate School winning the tie breaker for second with 75% wins and Norfolk Academy in third place.
Greatest thanks to all of our dedicated team race committee headed up by Levi Thomson, and to Candy DiCarlo for keeping the rotation straight.
