2023 Azalea Bowl Regatta

Summary

Saturday, April 15:

We started on time at 10:30am with around 5 knots. The breeze built to 15 knots near the end of the day. A Division got in 6 races with B Division getting in 4 races. Plan to start with B Division on day 2.

Sunday, April 16:

With a light breeze to start the day, we began with B Division in hopes to get in a few rotations before the cut off time. A stray of storms threatened the race course late morning but dissipated before reaching the fleet. The breeze was never over 10 knots for any of the races. 10 races were completed in both Divisions. Congratulations to John T. Hoggard for winning on home waters! Lucy Beckham in 2nd and Christchurch in 3rd. Congrats to all the teams for a great weekend of racing at this awesome regatta! And a huge THANK YOU to all the RC and Volunteers for getting a lot of fair races and spectacular hospitality on shore. Hope to see everyone again next year!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
