MDISA Fleet Race Qualifier

Summary

Saturday, April 23:

MDISA welcomed 12 teams to the fleet qualifier with a chance to move on to the Mallory qualifier this weekend. Severn Sailing Association hosted the event in Annapolis, Maryland. The day started out with very light breeze from the Northeast. We were able to get 1 A set and 1 B set in before the wind completely died and we went in for postponement until the wind filled again. We went back out around 2pm and were able to get 2 more races in each division before the wind died again and we had to call it a day. The PRO for the weekend was Mark Bennett and our DRO was Keith Carew, they both did an excellent job giving the sailors as square of a course as we could due to the consistent shifts we see from this angle in Annapolis.

Sunday, April 24:

Sunday was more of the same in Annapolis, except the wind was more Easterly on Sunday. Still very light which caused a delay again midday. We were only able to get off 2 races in each division on Sunday due to the lack of wind. All of the teams sailed very well and we were happy to get off the races we did. Congratulations to Severn School for winning the regatta, Archbishop-Spalding for placing 2nd and Annapolis High for placing 3rd. The top 6 teams will move on to the Mallory qualifier in 2 weeks, good luck!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
