North Points #6 (Varsity only)

13 Varsity boats from Charleston Community Sailing, 4 Varsity boats from James Island YC, and 8 JV boats participated in the racing. Races were held in the Ashley River just off the JIYC docks. Conditions could not have been more perfect with East winds 10-15 with a flood tide. 6A and 6B races were completed each lasting 20-25 minutes long.

Racing resumed about 10:30am with an ebb tide and about 8 knots of breeze from the NE. The breeze was shifting 10-15 degrees and varied from 5-8. Low tide was at 11:45 so slack current helped the racing proceed. The last B race saw stronger current resulting in several boats being swept outside the leeward mark gate and the sailors rounding the gate incorrectly resulting in DNF scores. Racing was completed about 2PM. Ryan Hamm as PRO and his RC team did an excellent job running challenging, fair and efficient racing. Thanks go to all the support personnel.
