Beautiful conditions in Santa Barbara ranging from 10-20 knots from the WSW. 4 races in both divisions were completed before the wind shut off just before starting Silver B's 4th race. There were two breakdown hearings that resulted in redress (one in gold and one in silver). Thank you so very much to the Santa Barbara Yacht Club, Santa Barbara Youth Sailing Foundation, and the sailors of the UC Santa Barbara Sailing Team.
A strong westerly in the Santa Barbara Channel eddied along the mountain range to provide a very shifty southeasterly breeze at times quite strong and at other times barely enough to sail. It tested the race committee and the sailors. After fighting with the breeze all day, both gold and silver completed races through 8A, however as the B division attempted to get in their last set, the westerly approached in the high 20's and chased off the easterly breeze forcing the race committee to attempt a last minute reset of the course with only 10 minutes left before racing was scheduled to end. Unfortunately, it was not doable with the challenging conditions and limited time, and so Gold 8A did not count and Silver 7A-8A were thrown out as well. One protest was filed in Silver that resulted in a disqualification. All other protested that were mentioned on the water were not filed.
Once again, thank you to all the competitors, the SBYC, the SB Youth Sailing Foundation, and the sailors of UCSB.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
